Transform yourself and your yoga practice with your decision to learn more.
The EYS teacher training program provides students with a template for learning and then encourages the individual’s creativity to flow. We begin with a firm grounding in anatomy and move through yoga philosophy, psychology, chakras etc to create the skills required to teach confidently. We encourage you to see your yoga practice and your desire to teach yoga as a journey that lasts a lifetime. The program show you how to teach a mindful and safe class applicable to all styles of yoga; from leading discussions about yogic philosophy to class design and flow.
The EYS Teacher Training Program sees value in all yogic traditions and styles. It is designed to honor the general principles of yoga and encourage students to develop an individualistic teaching style that resonates within them. Our goal is that you learn to teach safely and confidently. We are registered with the Yoga Alliance an internationally recognized organization that has the highest standards for certification requirements. The Essential Yoga Studio follows their guidelines to ensure your certification is viable for wherever you choose to teach.
The course is led by Senior Yoga Instructor EYRT Francesca ter Poorten. Francesca has resided in the Canadian Rockies for almost 10 years. She has studied with the masters of India, the United States and Canada as well. Joining her are Physiotherapist Shona Williams, an RYT teacher who brings greater understanding to anatomy and therapeutic yoga.
