Teaching Yoga Nidra: The Journey Within

Yoga Nidra is a systematic meditation technique. It provides a complete relaxation to the Body and Mind. Even more significant, Yoga Nidra is a deep place to take your students, by bringing them on this mind adventure, they delve deep into their subconscious and unconscious mind. It is here that the seeds of what we wish to have in our lives, take root. There is a self-hypnosis element to Yoga Nidra that matches no other in terms of planting an intention and then directing all of our mental energies toward it, in a really effortless way. Yoga Nidra ripens the mind to cultivate whatever it is we wish for.
Yoga Nidra can be a powerful session, where students gain deep insight into themselves. It is here that we experience dimensions of the mind perhaps never before visited.
You can become an expert in setting up the framework and guiding your students into this wonderland of the subconscious. During this weekend certification, we will practice Yoga Nidra twice daily, discuss theory, cover outlines of how to write original Yoga Nidra Scripts and then focus on the framework as you work with your peers to create your own inspired works. All the techniques that are included in Yoga Nidra, how to explain Yoga Nidra to students and what it takes to become a Yoga Nidra teacher. How Yoga Nidra can help with health issues and conducting individual Yoga Nidra sessions Discover how to get your students to their Theta State- the wave frequency that our brains go to when having a spiritual experience. Exploration of how to analyze Yoga Nidra experiences will also be covered.
Each day with start with a Yoga Practice followed by a Yoga Nidra & Journaling session. This session certifies you to give a unique offering to your students that will allow them to widen their awareness and cultivate greater insight. Throughout the weekend, you will experience these awakenings first hand.
This program is available to all, but will qualify toward your 500-hour Advanced Teacher Training if you have graduated from a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Program. Aerial Yoga Intensive: 30 Hours of Learning

The course will be taught by Francesca ter Poorten Unnata-trained Aerial Yogi and Yoga Teacher EYRT 500.  This course is great for you if you just want to go DEEP with Aerial or you want to guide an aerial class safely while imparting a sense of play in your classes.

  • You will participate in over 20 hours of hands-on instruction, plus a teaching practicum.
  • You will learn the physical and energetic benefits, contraindications, and cautions of each asana, and understand how to sequence them into a powerful Aerial Yoga class.
  • In this training you will develop the necessary skills to lead your own Aerial Yoga class.
  • We will break down the core foundations and principles of Aerial Yoga.
  • How to structure a class, transitioning into and out of postures.
  • How to offer modifications, spotting and adjustments for your students.
  • How to safely setup Aerial Equipment.

Yoga Therapy Ball Workshop: Low Back, Upper Back and Shoulders/Chest

Therapy balls are a versatile piece of exercise equipment available to help people with back pain. In particular, movements using the balls are designed to bring movement to the spine in a controlled manner to help keep the discs nourished. Moving the vertebrae helps nourish the discs in the spine by increasing blood flow around the disc and by causing the water to flow in and out of the disc. 

As well we will look at the upper front body.  Using the therapy balls to correct slouched posture by releasing chest muscles. 

Applying the balls to trigger Points in the Pectoralis Major and Minor releasing tightness and shortening of this muscle group. This releases the grip of those muscles on the shoulders that pulls them forward creating a round-shouldered posture.

Using this sequence, we learn to negate the negative effects of the modern lifestyle.  This sequence can be beneficial before any workout to experience more opening in the chest and shoulder area. $50

Mobilize your lower body with this workshop.  Spend the morning getting deep into a foot, leg and hip massage sequence using Yoga Tune Up balls.  Once you start taking care of your feet, you will notice an overall sense of relief. Join us for an evening of quiet yoga and sound meditation with the healing vibration of crystal singing bowls.  These bowls are amazing for relaxation, letting go of the old, integrating the new and general expansion of consciousness and new possibilities.  Our bodies are primed to receive the sound that crystal bowls make in our bodies because we are water and our bones have a crystalline structure that resonates with the structure of the bowls, echoing in sound and body.  

Each sound that is played will activate different chakras, organs, and organ systems.

The combination of what the bowls are made out of and how we receive their sound in our bodies is the basis of why the bowls so moving and healing. Because we are primed to receive their sound, they can evoke true transformation.

Gentle postures and then slowly move into a state of consciousness that creates a shift, allowing us to heal.

Singing bowls will help you quiet your mind, relax and rejuvenate your body, soothe your nervous system, and entrain your energies to higher vibrational frequencies.

Join us at EYS to celebrate the winter solstice with a personal challenge - 108 sun salutations

108 is an auspicious number running through many traditions, religions and practices of the Eastern world.  It is a powerful number which repeatedly appears in a variety of sacred forms. There are 108 beads on a mala and a Catholic rosary, 108 illustrations on Buddha's footprint and in Islam the number 108 refers to God...to name just a few.

The winter solstice is the perfect time to let go, shed what not longer serves us and to start setting intentions as the days starts growing longer and move towards a new year. By practicing 108 sun salutations we transform our physical practice in to a moving meditation and challenge physical fatigue and the restlessness of the mind. We strengthen body, mind and soul. The power of practicing this ritual in a group environment heightens the energy and shared sense of intention. 

Don't be put off by the high number,  as always, you can make modifications to allow ease in to your practice. The intentions is where the energy grows from.
